All the students work in small classes and have access to the whole of the National Curriculum. We recognise that all children are individuals and learn in different ways so their needs will vary. Children may need extra support at some point in their time at school whether it be long or short term. We aim to be flexible in our approach and plan carefully to match the level of each activity to individual children, whatever their ability. We always have Teaching Assistants in class to help support the children who need additional support. These children are identified by on-going assessment and monitoring strategies.

Trained Staff Support

At Lakeside staff are very experienced in working with young people with Special Educational Needs.  Staff are supported and trained in developing their skills through both in-house and outside training.
